The Brew of My Choice:

Every time I visit a cafe’,I end up ordering a tall glass of Irish Coffee. Somehow I just can’t get enough of the good stuff!. Most of my friends and colleagues opt for a smoothie or a chocolate shake but even in 14322468_1789670444609223_4602584357078841587_n the hot, humid, sweltering heat of summers I prefer a hot Irish Coffee, be it just on the go or after a relaxed dinner with friends. More often than not my buddies pester me as to why I always order hot beverages to which my reply is, that its because hot women prefer hot beverages .LolComing back to the STAR of the story, Irish Coffee, it is made by pouring piping hot coffee into a warmed glass until it is about 3/4th full. Then a dash of brown sugar is added and stirred till it is completely dissolved. Then comes the good stuff, Irish Whiskey which is allowed to blend in. And finally top it up with dollops of heavy whipped cream!. Of course in India, unlike British Cafes, Irish Whiskey is not added. Popular cafes like Cafe Coffee Day add a non-alcoholic Irish whiskey flavour which I absolutely love.

Irish Coffee Trivia : Did you know that in Ireland, which is the birth place of Irish coffee, January 25th & St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th is celebrated as IRISH COFFEE DAY!!!
