The festive season is here and being half bong ( lol half bengali & half punjabi thanks to my parents who decided to get married 😉 ) I’m all gung- ho about the Durga-Pujo festivities that have begun. Most of you must be aware that during this time of the year most Bengalis go overboard with shopping and celebrations. Well I’m no different!. I find online shopping more convenient than conventional shopping where one has to go from one store to another just to find that one perfect outfit. Well I was looking for a stylish top for myself and I came upon a site called Loom Tree.
Here’s what they claim & what actually makes them stand apart from the rest of the bandwagon
Loom Tree is an artisanal lifestyle brand for forward thinking shoppers who yearn to have their ethical values reflected in their homes and wardrobes. We design effortless bohemian-luxe womenswear using organic cotton, handloom wool, Ashima silk (Peace silk) and upcycled fabrics. Our additional range of lifestyle separates include vintage-inspired nightwear, childrenswear, homewares and accessories. Basically everything a woman could want.Grounded in traditional Indian textiles, we celebrate in global artisan craft. We believe the contemporary fashion industry has lost its connection to the producers at the bottom of the supply chain so unlike other fashion brands we don’t hide our suppliers away. We acknowledge them so that each and every product we sell has an instant story to share with the world.Loom Tree’s main objective is to offer exclusive fashion whilst improving the lives and communities of the artisans, craftsmen, weavers and farmers in developing countries who hold the traditional skills needed to make beautiful, authentic and timeless things. Our USP is in the design details. We use handloom woven wools and traditional embroidered embellishments. This embroidery includes the ancient Indian Kashida art form along with the vibrancy of Kutch embroidery, using colourful threads and beads.
I browsed through their site and found a number of gorgeous options like dresses, tops etc. Even the designs are contemporary and the fabric used is in sync with the changing weather. Plus the fact that these are creations of traditional craftsmen and hence it is an artisanal lifestyle brand was one of the reasons I decided to give it a go.
About The Look:
I chose a stylish printed top with bell sleeves from the Loom Tree & paired it with my favourite pair of distressed denims. I opted for a funky pair of boots to complete the look. I love the free-flowing tiered top with bell sleeves, which is quite perfect for a casual date or a brunch date with bestie.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading about the look I curated for you.
