One October evening I decided to visit Mocha, this new joint that had recently come up in the bustling city of Lucknow which is already overflowing with options to eat out & have a good time at the same place. For a newbie in the city, Mocha has managed to create a sufficient amount of buzz and curiosity. Being an avid coffee lover I wanted to give this eatery a dekho.

Located near the Patrakarpuram intersection right opposite the Puma Store, it is hard to miss the strategically well placed banner of Mocha in blue on top of the upmarket Anand Plaza.

As I waltz in, I quite warm up to the retro & relaxed ambience of the place. The sprawling restaurant has both indoor as well outdoor seating area, mostly done in blue. I Quite like the way they have their logo placed on the wall using a bicycle ( see the picture below ). The dim lights set the tone of the joint which is calm, relaxed & laid-back which I quite like.

Their Menu is quite exhaustive, and apart from serving breakfast, lunch & dinner, they have ample beverages like tea and coffee options for a person like me plus a variety of snacks to go with it. Besides that they have a Bakery counter serving delicious looking pastry options right from Cheesecake Brownie to Banoffee Pie. I saw some Dry-Fruit Cookies as well. Plus they have a full fledged Bar too. Seems like Mocha doesn’t want to leave anything to its customers’ imagination!.

Well as the adage goes- The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so I ordered a couple of Cutting Chai, a Cappuccino and Hash brown Aloo Tikki to go with it. The Cutting Chai was your typical masala chai, however, the Cappuccino which came with a slice of vanilla cake disappointed a caffeine lover like me. For a restaurant that takes its name from a coffee, the cappuccino served was quite average and I hope they will try & improve it. What came as a pleasant surprise were the Hash brown Aloo Tikki which had exactly the right balance of spices and oil & was absolutely lip-smacking!.

A special mention for the courteous and well behaved staff. I loved the genre of music playing in the background although the same song played but I didn’t mind as it was one of my favourites-Mohombi-In your head. On the whole I had a pleasant was worth the visit!
