Scalp Clean Shampoo By Bionova
Hair is probably one of the first few things you notice about people when you interact them for the first time. This is especially true for women. A luscious, beautiful and glossy mane always leaves a good impression, which is one of the reasons why proper hair care is vital as far as our daily beauty regimen goes. Also, taking good care of your hair plays a significant role in having hair that enjoys good health and helps avoid extensive damage that can lead to hair loss. Washing and conditioning your hair with the right kind of shampoo which addresses all the needs & challenges of your hair is of great significance. It is therefore important that we first identify our hair-type.
The sebaceous gland plays an important role in determining hair and scalp type. The production of sebum is a natural process that adds strength and lustre to the hair strand. However, diet, blood circulation, emotional distress and drugs and the aging process can all influence production.
Primarily there are four kinds of scalps:
- Dry Scalp – Itchiness and Flakiness. You end up spending most of your time trying to tame your rough locks..
- Oily Scalp – Curse Those Overactive sebaceous glands..
- Combination Scalp – Pretty confusing at times..
- Normal Scalp – You’re blessed..
Well sadly, most of us fit into the first three varieties. Shampoo and conditioners are the unsung heroes of the haircare industry. But unless you’ve found ones that have dramatically changed your hair, it’s likely that you pick up whatever is on offer at the supermarket and don’t give it a second thought. However at this point I’d like to mention how very important it is to pick an appropriate shampoo based on the type of scalp you possess and not the type of hair!. I am of the opinion that a shampoo should be chosen keeping in mind, the condition of your scalp & a conditioner should be chosen according to the condition of your hair.
That’s me checking out Scalp Clean
Personally for me, I suffer from dry, itchy & flaky scalp in this weather so I am always on the lookout for shampoos that tackle these problems. Dandruff is another name for a condition called seborrheic dermatitis, or seborrhoea. Dandruff causes flaky, white, or yellowish skin to form on the scalp and other oily parts of the body. The flakes associated with dandruff sometimes can be caused by conditions other than seborrhea, including:
- Dry skin, such as the kind caused by cold, dry winter air
- Other skin conditions like eczema, acne, or psoriasis that can cause dead skin cells to build up on the scalp
- Shampooing too often or not often enough
- Using hair-care products or hair dye that leave a dry, flaky residue or having a bad reaction to these products
So to get rid of my dandruff, I recently tried out a shampoo called Scalp Clean from a brand called Bionova which manufactures a host of products related to hair & skin-care. Scalp Clean is:
- Paraben free
- Reduces combing resistance after hair wash
- Available in all the leading medical stores in India
- Plus the great news is that you don’t need to use conditioners separately because it has properties of anti-combing resistance and leaves your hair smooth and glossy.
- pH balanced
I have to say the product is quite effective as far reducing dandruff goes. All you need to do is apply it on wet hair and use your fingers to spread the cleanser down till the ends and rinse thoroughly. For first timers, use the SCALP CLEAN shampoo alternatively with your current shampoo in the beginning to allow the hair and scalp to gradually recondition and rebalance itself. This remedy possesses the ability to seal your hair cuticles to enhance its natural shine. That’s one the reasons why you don’t need to use a conditioner after shampooing your hair with Scalp Clean. For best results, use at least twice a week. What’s more is that it is suitable for all hair types. I also appreciate the fact that it reasonably priced. I quite like the packaging too, it comes in a beautiful black & silver 100ML tube which is priced at Rs 275 only!.
